In my opinion, this food seems more suited for puppies who are still getting used to solid foods or are teething and having difficulty chewing. It gave my 7-month-old puppy diarrhea even though we transitioned to it gradually and it wasn’t the only thing she was eating, just mixed in. She really enjoys it but I’m concerned about dehydration now, plus she was pestering me for other foods soon after eating, which is atypical for her. I looked at the ingredients and it’s mostly water, and the fat and protein content for brain development isn’t very high. I was curious why they called it an “entree”.

As someone who wants only the best for my pet, I did a lot of research to find the optimal dog food for my Malamute puppy. I compared Wellness Core, Blue Puppy, and Royal Canin. I bought a case of each to try first. After the puppy tried the Purina, she refused to touch the Blue. She loves the Purina Pro beef and chicken varieties. We started with the assortment pack. Then we switched to the high protein chicken since she’s a growing girl. She scarfs down the Purina like I’ve never seen – it’s so meaty and juicy. Now even my older dog wants Purina instead of his pricey Royal Canin, which is fine by me! So I’m a fan of this food and recommend it!
